GOVERNMENT ONCOLOGY COORDINATOR
Icon Oncology is seeking a Government Oncology Coordinator to manage the coordination of treatment access for patients referred from government hospitals to our private practices. This fixed-term role plays a key part in ensuring timely, efficient, and dignified care by overseeing logistics, scheduling, and stakeholder communication across the public–private care pathway.
Minimum Requirements:
- Diploma or Degree in Healthcare or related field
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in healthcare coordination, public health, hospital administration, or
social work - Own transport and valid SA driver’s license
Key Responsibilities:
- Patient Support: Serve as the primary contact for referred patients. Coordinate appointments,
transport, and complete patient documentation to ensure seamless care. - Public–Private Coordination: Liaise with public hospital staff and Icon teams to manage referrals,
treatment planning, and reporting. - Scheduling & Resource Management: Work with clinical teams to align patient volumes with capacity
and avoid bottlenecks. - Compliance & Billing: Ensure documentation meets standards; support billing submissions and follow
up with state partners for timely payments. - Logistics Oversight: Organise transport and resolve access barriers to treatment.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Build strong relationships with hospital staff, clinicians, and service
providers. Represent Icon in government liaison meetings.
