Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Specialist Head Office – Bellville
Icon Oncology is seeking an experienced Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Specialist to join our finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing financial consolidation, management accounts, and financial reporting while ensuring compliance with IFRS standards. This role requires strong analytical skills, financial modelling expertise, and the ability to provide insights that support strategic decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Consolidation: Oversee and manage the consolidation of financial statements across multiple business units, ensuring accuracy and compliance with IFRS.
- IFRS: Drive and/or assist Group IFRS specific projects where necessary and co-ordinate sign-off with auditors in respect of technical accounting opinions.
- IFRS: Maintain and update Group technical accounting frameworks, standards, policies and processes in line with industry standards and regulations.
- Management Accounts: Prepare and review monthly management accounts, providing insightful variance analysis and commentary.
- Financial Reporting: Lead the preparation of financial reports, ensuring adherence to IFRS, and present financial insights to senior leadership.
- Financial Reporting: Identify, recommend and implement ways to improve efficiency and effectiveness of the current reporting process
- Prepare and present comprehensive audit reports with clear, actionable recommendations.
- Budgeting & Forecasting: Develop and maintain financial models for budgeting, forecasting, and long-term planning.
- Variance Analysis: Analyze financial performance against budgets and forecasts, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with internal stakeholders to provide financial insights and support strategic decision-making.
- Process Improvement: Streamline financial reporting and consolidation processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Audit & Compliance: Support external audits, ensuring timely and accurate financial information is provided.
- Data Integrity: Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data within reporting systems.
Key Skills and Competencies:
- IFRS Expertise: Strong working knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and financial consolidation principles.
- Financial Modelling: Advanced proficiency in Excel and financial modelling techniques.
- Analytical Thinking: Ability to analyze complex financial data and provide actionable insights.
- Technical Acumen: Familiarity with financial reporting systems (Sage Intact, Idu).
- Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to financial reporting nuances.
- Business Partnering: Strong interpersonal and communication skills to engage with non-finance stakeholders.
- Problem-Solving: Strategic/tactical long- and short-term outlook with the ability to identify issues and implement effective solutions and to adapt quickly to changing priorities and dynamics.
- Deadline-Oriented: Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict reporting deadlines.
- Communication: Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, with both verbal and written communication skills.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Education: Chartered Accountant (CA(SA)), CIMA, or equivalent finance qualification.
- Experience: Minimum 2-5 years in financial planning & analysis, management reporting, and financial consolidation.
- Group consolidation and reporting experience, essential.
- System Proficiency: Strong experience with ERP systems and financial consolidation tools.
